This assignment we required to identify design principles, formal organization and variations that have been learned in class. We have to apply it to our insect that we had research.
Here are the list:
[ Formal Organization ]
- Linear : a series of Form arranged sequently in a row.
- Radial : linear form that extend outward.
- Centralized : number of secondary forms clustered about a dominant central parent-form.
- Clustered : organization groups it's forms according to functional requirements of size, shape or proximity.
- Grid : a square grid, when projected into the 3D, generates a spatial network of reference points and lines.
[ Design Principles or Ordering Principles ]
- Axis : A line established by 2 points in space, about which forms and spaces can be arranged in symmetrical or balanced.
- Symmetry : Requires balanced distribution and arrangement of equivalent forms and spaces on opposite side of a dividing line, plane or about a center / axis.
- Rhythm : a unifying movement characterized by a patterned repetition or alteration of formal elements of motifs.
- Hierarchy : the articulation of the important of significant of a form or space.
- Datum (composition) : invisible guideline connection.
- Transformation : Process of changes.

In every design, principles is very important to be remember because it is the component of producing good quality design. Hence, I have learnt and more understand how to apply it better after done this assignment.
