JIBBY & CO Stairs Construction

For the final project is a group work and my teammate are Hidayah, Nadia and Joharis. We have to choose a commercial place such residential, restaurant or any bung-lo house which allow us to explore the construction. We decided JIBBY & CO as our analysis and it's a restaurant that located at Empire Shopping Mall, Subang Jaya. For this task we required to produce A2 Infographic board and A3 for the elevation drawing also detailing.


  • Definition: stairs is a series of steps, leading from one floor to the other, provided to afford the various floors of a building.
  • There are few types of stairs:
  1. Straight Stairs
  2. Quarter Turn Stairs
  3. Half Turn Stairs
  4. Circular Stairs
  • Parts of the stairs:

It is a Straight Flight Stairs type which is a run of steps between landings.
  • Mild Steel for the stringer and tread [Strong, Durable, Economical and Easy to be Found] the width is around 1000mm.
  • The handrail is using Carbon Steel Chequer Plate [Harder, Durable and Withstand High Force] the high is around 900mm.
  • The height between the first floor to second floor is 3200 mm and the second floor to the top is 2800mm. 
  • The riser : 140mm, tread : 250mm and 

Reflection:
Through this project, I have learnt how to identify the material and better understanding of the structural qualities of how it's constructed.
